How the conversion standing desk plan works
This conversion standing desk planner estimates the standing surface height from your body height, then compares it with your existing desk to find the vertical lift a converter must provide.
It also estimates minimum surface width from monitor count, monitor size and laptop placement. The monitor top edge target uses standing eye height, while the depth recommendation leaves at least 60 cm in front for a keyboard and mouse.
These are planning estimates from published ergonomic guidance and typical product specifications, not manufacturer data for a specific model. Check the converter's own dimensions and weight rating before buying.
Standing surface height = 0.62 × body height; monitor top edge = 0.93 × body height The load estimate uses 4 kg for a 24-inch monitor, 6 kg for a 27-inch monitor, 8 kg for a 32-inch monitor and 2 kg for a laptop. Converters are often rated 11 to 16 kg; check the rating when the estimate exceeds 11 kg.

Standing desk converter planner FAQ
What does the lift result mean?
It is the vertical distance between your existing desk height and the estimated standing surface height. A zero result means the existing desk is already at or above that estimate.
Why does monitor size change the surface width?
The planner allows about 55 cm per monitor up to 24 inches and about 65 cm for monitors 27 inches and above, then adds laptop space and margin when applicable.
Does the load estimate include the converter itself?
No. It estimates the equipment load from the selected monitors and optional laptop. Compare it with the converter's rated capacity and account for any other equipment you plan to place on it.
Why is the recommended depth 60 cm?
The planning rule reserves at least 60 cm of depth-width in front for a keyboard and mouse.
