How this desk posture check works

If you are searching for proper sitting posture at desk guidance, this checker gives you a simple dimension comparison. Enter your height plus the desk, chair and monitor top heights in centimetres.

It compares desk and chair height with approximately 0.25 × stature, and monitor top height with approximately 0.79 × seated stature. These are reference points for a 90-90-90 setup: hips and elbows near 90 degrees, with knees around 90-100 degrees and feet flat.

The best setup is easy to change. Change position regularly; no single posture is correct for a whole day.

Desk target = chair target = 0.25 × height; monitor target = 0.79 × height

These are approximate proportion checks, not medical advice or a diagnosis. A measured seated eye height can be more useful than a proportion, and a clinician decides what is appropriate for you.

Desk posture checker FAQ

What does 90-90-90 mean here?

It is a simple setup rule: hips and elbows near 90 degrees, with knees around 90-100 degrees and feet flat.

Why are desk and chair targets the same?

The source reference gives both seated elbow height and popliteal height as approximately 0.25 times stature. Actual comfort also depends on your chair, desk and foot support.

Where should the top of my monitor be?

The source reference places seated eye height at approximately 0.79 times seated stature and says the top of the screen should be at or slightly below eye level. A measured value can beat this proportion.

Does passing mean my posture is medically correct?

No. This is a dimension comparison, not a diagnosis. No single posture is correct for a whole day, and a clinician decides what is appropriate for you.

Are my measurements saved?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and this tool does not save the values you enter.
